In 2020, Hong Kong’s leading broadcaster, TVB, made history by becoming the first local broadcaster to incorporate cutting-edge augmented reality (AR) technology into their prestigious annual awards show.
Seeking to elevate the production values and create a truly immersive experience for viewers, LAB XR team worked with TVB creative team tirelessly to integrate 3D animated elements directly into the physical stage environment. The centerpiece of this technological marvel was the front plate – a massive, high-resolution display that served as the backdrop for the awards presentations.
By leveraging the power of AR, TVB had managed to redefine the traditional awards show format, creating an unforgettable, immersive experience that left a lasting impression on the live audience.
